OUR CURRICULUM

Curiculum:
We are a play school following the Early Childhood Curriculum and the Montessori Method. The curriculum is intellectually stimulating and challenging to bring out the best in each of the little ones at LFN. Learning through play is a major part of this program. Being a child, one of the essential part of learning is experimenting and exploring the world around you.

We also incorporate the Montessori Method in the Nursery. At the Montessori Center, children are provided with an environment that gives them the opportunity to explore, experiment, discover and grow thus giving them a holistic approach toward learning. Dr. Montessori the founder of the Montessori Method described the child’s mind between the time of birth and six years of age as an “absorbent mind”. It is during this stage that a child has the tremendous ability to learn and assimilate from the world around him/her, without conscious effort. During this time, children are particularly receptive to certain external stimuli.

Encouraged to focus their attention on one particular activity, children work at their own optimum level, in an environment where beauty and orderliness are emphasized and appreciated. A spontaneous love of “work” is revealed as the child is given the freedom (within boundaries) to make their own choices. We work in a flexible manner, understanding the pace at which the child works.

Our classes are small in size to maximize the attention given to each child. We always have directors ready to assist in the Montessori center. Directors aim to stimulate the child’s enthusiasm for learning and to guide them, without interfering with the child’s natural desire to teach themselves and become independent. Each child works through their own individual cycle of activities, and learns to truly understand according to their own unique needs and capabilities.

Our Montessori classroom has a busy, productive atmosphere where joy and respect are abundant. Within such an environment, freedom, responsibility,social and intellectual development spontaneously flourish.
